Four new features this month, all aimed at the business side of running a practice. Whether you're trying to understand your numbers better, grow your patient base, or make your services more accessible, there's something here for you.

Custom Metrics

You can now define custom KPIs that are either manually entered or automatically computed from your platform data. Track the numbers that actually matter to your practice — patient retention rate, average revenue per visit, no-show percentage, provider utilization, or any custom formula you define.

Each metric appears on your practice dashboard with trend charts that show performance over time. Set targets, track progress, and spot issues before they become problems. You can also group metrics into custom dashboards for different roles — one view for the owner, another for the clinical team, another for billing.

For practices that have outgrown the default reporting, custom metrics give you the flexibility to measure what generic dashboards miss.

Dynamic Membership Upgrades

Memberships on Ready Practice are now significantly more flexible. You can offer trial periods, credits, and package deals within membership tiers — and patients can upgrade or downgrade dynamically, with prorated billing handled automatically.

This opens up pricing strategies that weren't possible before: "first month free" introductory offers, 3-month starter packages, credit-based plans where patients prepay for a set number of visits, and seasonal promotions with automatic expiration. You define the rules; the platform handles the billing logic.

For practices running membership or subscription models — especially in functional medicine, weight management, and wellness — this removes the billing friction that typically comes with flexible plans.

Custom Referral Systems

Build referral programs tailored to how your practice actually grows. Track where referrals come from, automate reward distribution, and measure conversion rates at every step of the referral funnel.

The system supports three referral flows: patient-to-patient (your existing patients refer friends and family), provider-to-provider (other clinicians refer patients to your practice), and external partner referrals (affiliates, corporate wellness programs, or community organizations that send patients your way).

Each flow has its own tracking, reward rules, and reporting. For patient referrals, you might offer a credit toward their next visit. Scholarships

You can now offer reduced-rate or free access to services for qualifying patients through a built-in scholarship system. Define scholarship criteria, set up application workflows, and configure automatic eligibility checks based on patient data.

This is designed for practices that want to expand access without building a separate process outside the platform. Scholarships integrate with your existing billing — discounted rates apply automatically for approved patients, and scholarship utilization is tracked alongside your regular revenue metrics so you can see the full picture.

For practices in underserved communities, those with grant funding for subsidized care, or anyone who wants to make their services more accessible, scholarships formalize what many providers already do informally — and give you the data to sustain it.
