Here's everything that shipped in January. Four updates this month, all focused on giving you more control over your practice and more ways to connect Ready Practice with the rest of your stack.
Rebrand: Basis Health is now Ready Practice
The rebrand is complete. Basis Health is officially Ready Practice. The new domain is readypractice.com, the new look is live across the platform, and all old basishealth.io links redirect automatically — no action needed on your end.
The name is new, but the platform, the team, and your data are exactly the same. If you want the full story behind the rebrand, read the announcement post.
Custom Roles & Permissions
You can now create custom staff roles with granular, per-feature permissions. Control exactly who can access scheduling, billing, patient records, reports, and platform settings — and define those boundaries at the role level so you're not configuring access person by person.
We've included pre-built templates for the most common roles — front desk, clinical staff, billing specialist, and full admin — so you can get started immediately. Duplicate a template, adjust the permissions to match how your practice actually works, and assign it to your team.
This is especially useful for growing practices that are onboarding new staff and need to enforce access boundaries without slowing anyone down.
Master Audit Log
Every action taken on the platform is now recorded in a comprehensive, searchable audit log. You can see who did what, when they did it, and which record was affected — across scheduling, billing, patient records, settings changes, and more.
Filter by user, action type, date range, or specific record. Export logs for compliance audits or internal reviews. If something looks off in a patient record or a billing entry, the audit log tells you exactly what happened and who made the change.
For practices subject to HIPAA audits, insurance reviews, or internal compliance requirements, this removes the guesswork entirely.
API, MCP & Webhooks Launch
Ready Practice is now fully extensible. This month we shipped three integration layers that open the platform up to developers, technical teams, and AI-powered workflows.
Public REST API. The API covers patients, appointments, billing, forms, and more. Authenticate with API keys scoped to your practice, and build custom integrations, dashboards, or data pipelines against your live practice data.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) support. If you're using AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or custom LLM-powered workflows, MCP lets those tools interact directly with your Ready Practice data — reading schedules, pulling patient summaries, or drafting clinical notes with full context.
Webhooks. Subscribe to real-time events — new appointment booked, payment received, form submitted, patient record updated — and push them to any external system. Connect Ready Practice to your EHR, analytics platform, Slack workspace, or custom backend without polling.
Together, these three features mean Ready Practice can sit at the center of whatever tech stack your practice runs on.
